Her A-Z List of New Age Practices is rooted in fear and stupidity and I am going to give you all the REAL list of things to avoid. So buckle up, bitches.

A- Assholes who tell you to believe what they believe or you are going to burn forever in Hell. False. People who do this are very insecure in their belief system and are looking for others to join them so that they feel validated. There is also a sense of superiority among these people because they feel like they are “in on a secret”…they are not.

B- Bullies. The one thing that REALLY pissed me off was that Doreen made a facebook group for people to join called “New Agers converting to Christianity” or some bullshit like that. Just because you liked Doreen in the past DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM BECAUSE SHE DID! People that use their influence to guilt others and bully them into changing their belief systems are assholes, and we already established we avoid those.

C- Christians. Now, not all of them. I know some Christians who use oracle cards, chant kundalini mantras, and love goddess, and they are AMAZING! What I mean here is don’t go out of your way to have a conversation with a christian about your beliefs, because you will inevitably be talked to about how you should join the dark side because they have the “blood of Jesus” (ie Grapejuice, which was very anticlimactic for me).

D- Doreen Virtue. Enough said. That crazy train derailed and blew up with no survivors.

E- Energy draining bullshit. A lot of us have the ability to let this just be like water off a duck’s back. We can make fun of it, and say it’s bullshit. However, if it’s hard for you to watch or listen to, walk away from it. Everyone handles things in different ways and it’s okay to keep your distance.

F- Fear and Fuckery. Your path is yours and it works for YOU. Don’t let one person strike fear in you. You aren’t possessed, or oppressed, by demons. If you love Unicorns, and throw Oracle Cards, then do it and do it well. Be YOU. Don’t listen to the bullshit, OR THE BULLIES.

G- God. The Christian one. You know, the one who gets petty and sends people to hell for stupid shit. That one. Yeah, we don’t like that.

G- Giving ANY Fucks. At all. About anything.

H- Hell. Should be easy because it doesn’t exist.

I- Idiots who think they are right. If your biggest source of information comes from a piece of channeled writing that GIVES ITSELF the qualifications of being “the word of God”, then you are basically reading a book by Donald Trump, because he is the only one who still thinks he’s qualified to do anything.

J- Jesus. But not the cool Jesus. I love Jesus, he is amazing to work with. This is the Jesus who, once again, will send you to Hell (ie Narnia) if you don’t accept a ‘gift’ of salvation (ie becoming a fucking asshole) you didn’t ask for.

K- “Kingdom Comer’s”. You know, the people who say Jesus is coming back every Blood Moon…or Thursday. Jesus is not trying to come to this ratchet planet in the flesh, so disregard that rumor. 

L- "Lightworkers” who do nothing to help anyone. Oof, bet you didn’t see this one coming. If you say you are a Lightworker, do the work and don’t be a fucking asshat who uses the word to inflate their fragile ego.

M- Mansplainers, with (White) Christian men leading the pack. Who better to tell you what to do better than a man who reads the Bible? Who better to tell you what to do with your vagina than someone who doesn’t have one? I know right, groundbreaking shit.

M- Money. Specifically, religions that guilt you into giving money you don’t have to please a God who apparently owns the Universe. Fuck that shit.

N- Not checking facts or resources. Come on, if you are going to give us a whole fucking dissertation about how bad things are, use more than the Bible and a stupid fucking website you copy and pasted from.

O- Overzealous Christians. “Yes, Pamela, I see that you have a cross tattoo on your wrist, have “Live, Laugh, Love” in your living room, and constantly use #blessed on your pictures of Chick-Fil-A. Give it a fucking rest, we don’t care.”

P- Proselytism- No one wants your beliefs. If they did, they would ask you about it. Don’t let people try to convert you, say “fuck you” and continue riding the unicorn or whatever you like to ride. No judgements.

Q- I don’t fucking know. Quesadilla’s that aren’t from MOE’S Southwest Grill or a Food Truck…you’re welcome. 

Q- Quoting the Bible for EVERYTHING:

“How is your sister, Tom?”

“In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth”...it’s random and pretentious and no one gives a fuck.

R- Reading Comments on Doreen’s posts. You will lose brain cells. Once again, you’re welcome.

S- Selling your soul to the Neon and Pastel colored Devil. If you are going to do it, the Glitter Devil gives you more bang for your buck, and French Fries!

T- Teachers who use their influence to guilt you into believing what they believe. This is cult mentality and very dangerous. Nothing good can, or will, come from this so PLEASE be careful and realize YOU are the best teacher you could ever have.

U- Understanding where the other person is coming from. This is bullshit. If someone is preaching and spouting toxic bullshit, don’t try to understand their wounded fucking childhood. Get away from them and rub some smoky quartz (or throw it at them, I don’t care).

V- Victim mentality. If you feel attacked, step back and look at it. Find the lesson in it, and move on. Don’t stay in that mindset because you are better than that.

W- Wet Socks. Literally the worst. Thing. Ever.

X- Xenophobes. Fucking Asshats. Donald Trump. It’s all the same. 

Y- Yellow food, unless it’s skittles or M&M’s. Bananas suck and smell HORRIBLE.

Z- Zephaniah. Don’t name your fucking kid this. Or your pet. It’s stupid.

Now, some of this list was 100% Satire. But some of it is also really real. 

Doreen Virtue helped a lot of people, myself included, become comfortable with our gifts and confident enough to share them with the world. 

I honor her for that purpose, and it’s not ever her I’m honoring, it’s the fact that, for a period of time, she allowed herself to be a vessel to help others. I would not be where I am today without her and Radleigh Valentine, who I fucking love beyond words.

If this is hard for you, I get it. She was like a spiritual mother to me and I took it HARD. But it will be okay! She is doing her own crazy train thing and that doesn’t mean you have to. Don’t follow her on any social media, and unsubscribe from her email list. That’s what I had to do, and it’s okay!

Your peace of mind is important. Protect that.

Also, fuck that goddamn copy and paste hack job of a fucking list she made.

My Interview with Vicky Maxwell!!

So it's safe to say that I absolutely adore Vicky and her work at New Age Hipster! I was so happy to be able to interview her! I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did!  

When did you start working with Angels and how did your interest get 'peaked' in the topic?

A couple of years ago I was putting in a crystal order online and for no apparent reason whatsoever I found myself clicking the buy button on a pack of Angel cards. I actually can't even remember what was going through my mind as I did it! The cards came and I was hooked. I had them for a week and had started getting really into the energy, it was so easy to connect with! I started asking the Angels for signs and I remember finding a white feather on the couch! :O There's just no way it could have gotten there by itself. I was totally hooked from that moment on!

What Angel do you work with most often?

Archangel Michael. He's always with me. I'm pretty sure he's actually one of my guardian angels too since he never leaves my side! Archangel Raphael is around a lot too. He's super cute.

What is your process of 'tuning in' to your intution and/or the Angels?

It really depends what I'm doing. Sometimes I just whisper to myself - "Angels what do you most need me to know?" Other times I'll do a big hoo-hah with candles, visualisations, calling all the Angels in. I really think it's super important to do what works for you and what feels right. I'm always discovering new ways of tuning in! I will say that crystals definitely help me though, especially selenite!

What is the most powerful experience you have had with an Angel/God/ Goddess/Spirit?

When I first started working with Angels Archangel Raphael came to me when I was sick. It was just a head cold, but I was acting like it was man flu (I'm not very good at being sick!). I called him in and was talking to him like I was on my death bed. I felt this burst of air across my body and he just started talking to me! We had this amazing conversation about why it was part of the human experience to have a cold sometimes. He was hilarious, such a great sense of humour. We just got along so well. I also had this cool experience when I woke up one night and I know I wasn't meant to and I saw this amazing green light over my body! :O

You are currently running your business full-time, and that is AMAZING! What suggestions or tips do you have for those who are wanting to take that leap?

That it's really hard work. I had this vision of myself in fluffy slippers watching infomercials and taking the odd call, but that couldn't be further from the truth! I worked my butt off starting my biz as a side gig for ages. I worked nights and weekends while I worked full time in a really stressful job. I did 100 free readings for strangers (I'd been reading for friends for years) before I started selling my services. Running a spiritual biz isn't just about doing readings, you have to learn the business side of things too, which isn't always easy! Marketing, software, systems, finances, sales, taxes. But if you're willing to put in the time, energy and love it can be the best thing you ever do!

What hurdles did you have to get through when it came to reading for others?

The biggest thing I struggled with was confidence. My friends had been telling me for years they loved my readings, but I always thought they were just saying that because they had to! Doing 100 readings for people I didn't know really helped me with that, and I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't that confident in their ability yet, or at least do readings for donations or pretty cheap. At the end I had 98% accuracy and learned two really important lessons from the 2% and I thought that was pretty good so I started my biz!

What is your process for creating spreads?

I read intuitively so I don't always use a spread in my readings, I usually just shuffle and see in my mind's eye where the cards are going to go and what they mean. Sometimes I'll hear a number like 7 in my head and then I'll put down 7 cards and they will tell me the positions and what they mean. If I'm reading for myself I'll write it down quickly and I then test it with a few different spreads, make some alterations if needed and that's that!

What is the most used deck in your collection?

My most used Angel deck is probably Daily Messages from your Angels (my first deck!) or the Archangel Oracle cards, both by Doreen Virtue! My most used Tarot deck is the Rider Waite Smith.

What advice to do you have for those who want to work with Angels who haven't before?

It's super easy. Close your eyes right now and just say - hey angels, wanna hang out? Grab yourself a deck of cards and don't look back!

Hi!  

The "King of Earth" pops up for us today! I love the energy of the Kings. Ths particular King comes with sign of abundance and prosperity. For me, the new iPhone launches tomorrow so it's quite relevant to me. This card is about success. You are entering into a time where success is yours if you take those steps into opportunities offered to you. Don't look at the 'what could go wrong', and look what is already going right! Literally everything you do right now will be successful. This being said, we are Mercury Retrograde so don't start really new ventures, businesses, or make big purchases. Instead, until this MR is over on the 9th of October, focus on cultivating yourself to be ready to take those leaps. Opportunities can still be offered to you, just tell them you need a few days to think it over. I actually did that once and realized, after taking a step back, that it wasn't an option I needed to pursue. Either way, success is yours!!!!

Hello!!  

Today we have "Justice" from the Angel Tarot. Sometimes we drag our feet in making choices that we need to make because they aren't easy. This card comes as a swift kick in the ass to make the decision. Do what you know to do because you are only prolonging pain if you don't. You know in your heart and in your mind that this is choice that needs to be made. "Rip off the band-aid" is what I'm getting with this card. This choice will restore balance to your life and help you walk your path with more confidence and joy.

How many of you know how truly powerful you are? Probably not a lot. I know I don't haha. We have ideas, and we hear people talk about it, but how often do we actually walk in it? What if I told you that your thoughts, even the fleeting ones, can change the course of your day, year, or even your life? Well guess whaaaattttt, they can! I am really being spoke to today about my thoughts and how they need to change. How can you change your thoughts? By realizing how powerful you are! Once you fully realize it, you are limitless in what you can manifest!! You have the power of the Universe running through you, at this very moment, the stardust that makes up galaxies is inside of you. The power that created the Universe is the power you have!!! Step into it!! All you have to do is open the door and step into it!!! You are loved beyond belief and it is so incredibly safe to be powerful and to know you are!!

Hello everyone!!

First, accept my sincerest apologies for not having a card of the day for a while. If you saw my post before, my boyfriend Matt and I were looking at Apartments in D.C. and I just didn't have time to post. I really did try though! I just couldn't find time to do it. So here we are, after a brief time apart. We have the Chariot card today!! This card tells you that you have all of the power! Self Control is your friend right now, don't go took crazy and over do things to the point of exhaustion. You are entering a very successful time in your life and you are going to be recognized for all that you do, even if it isn't in the professional setting. You are going be seeing a lot of desires come true and manifestations occur as long as you realize that you hold all of the power that these desires and manifestations need to occur! You've got this!!!

Deck used: Daily Guidance from Your Angels

Alright guys!  

Financial healing is coming your way in the form of a Shower of Abundance! You have to give up your worries first! You can't have worry and faith together. It just doesn't work. So you have to make a concious effort to not worry and expect the help you desire. The Angels are more than willing to help you!! It's also up to you if, and how quickly, your financial healing will take place! So don't resist!!

Tarot and Apps...Is it the Same?

Yo!

So this is the first, non card of the day, post in a while. I want to talk about Tarot Cards vs. Tarot Apps. I know several people who prefer not to use them, and that's awesome. I know some people who choose to use them, but just for fun. I personally use them daily and I will tell you why:

1. I love the ease of access. It is so convenient for those of us who don't carry bags and can't carry a physical deck around with us. It also reduces the chance of physical cards getting damaged while we are out and about. I personally use an App for my card of the day 99% of the time, and have great success with it. This leads me to reason number two.

2. They are just as accurate as your physical deck, if you let them be. I use my tarot apps for readings for clients if I am on the go and don't have a deck with me. I have gotten just as much positive feedback as those readings that are done with a physical deck. For me, Tarot and Oracle Apps are amazingly accurate because I put my energy into them and I set my intention to have an accurate and divinely guided reading. I do the same prayer no matter what type of deck I use, and invoke the same 3 Archangels (Michael, Haniel, and Gabriel) as I normally would. If Tarot Apps don't work for you, think about the reason why. Are you already thinking that it won't work, or be accurate, before you even use it? 

3. They are great if you want to try a deck out. I personally have Apps on my phone of decks that I wouldn't buy the Physical Copy of. Not for any particular reason, I just like it better on my phone. But out of the 43 Tarot and Oracle apps I have, I own 33 of them as Physical Decks. For the most part, if the app is made my The Fool's Dog, LLC, you are able to read the entire guidebook for the deck as well. And I don't know about you, but I would rather pay 3.99 for a deck and not like it than pay 25-30 bucks, only to discover I can't connect with it. A prime example of this is The Revelations Tarot, I just can't get into it yet. 

4. They are super fun and easy! Most of them let you choose your own virtual Reading Cloth, while giving you tons of layouts to choose from! This is amazing to me, as I love little personal touches like that :) 

This post is not to convince anyone to download Tarot/Oracle Apps, only to state my observation about them :)

Woohoo!  

My favorite court card, the Queen of Gabriel (Wands)!!! This is your time! Spread those wings out and FLY!! You have goals and desires? GO AFTER THEM!! They aren't going to come to you if you don't work for it a bit. Don't worry if it seems like a huge task, you are going to find people along the way to help you achieve your goals and dreams. But you have to take that first step out of the nest and fly! It's going to be a bit difficult at first, just as it is for baby birds, but in no time you will be soaring high!!:)
